We care about your privacy, and we want you to feel comfortable using the My NeurOptimal Companion app. This policy explains what information we collect, where it goes, and how we handle it — all in simple terms.
1. What We Collect and Why
When you use the app, we ask for:
- Your name and email address (required)
- Any notes or personal reflections you choose to enter about your NeurOptimal® sessions
We only collect this information to help the app work as intended. For example, we store your notes so you can come back and see your progress. That’s it. We don’t use this information for any other purpose.
2. What We Don’t Do
We do not:
- Sell your information
- Share it with marketers or advertisers
- Use it to track you
- Use it for anything outside of the app’s core features
Your data is yours, and we treat it that way.
3. Where Your Data Lives
The information you enter is saved in the cloud, not just on your device. This helps keep your data safe if you get a new phone or reinstall the app.
However, we want to be honest with you: your data isn’t locked with advanced encryption while it’s stored (this is called “encryption at rest”). That means, in rare cases, someone with unauthorized access to our storage system could read it. While we take steps to keep everything secure and access is limited to trusted team members, we can’t promise 100% privacy.
4. App Crashes and Bugs
If the app crashes or something goes wrong, we use a tool called Firebase to tell us what happened. This helps us fix issues and make the app better. This crash reporting doesn’t include anything personal about you — just technical details like your phone model or what part of the app caused the problem.
5. App Permissions
The app may ask for permission to do things like send you reminders (via notifications). These are totally optional, and you can turn them on or off in your phone settings. We won’t use any permissions to collect personal data.
6. For Parents
This app is meant for users age 16 and older. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from kids under 13.
7. Policy Updates
If this privacy policy changes, we’ll update it here and make sure it’s easy to find. By continuing to use the app, you agree to the latest version of the policy.
