Myth Busters – Rumor Has It…admin-neuro
Funny how rumors get started…One person thinks they understand how something works and says, “it must work like this” while another says “no, I heard it worked like this”, and yet another says, “in my experience it must be like this”. Before you know it suddenly, all these funny rumors, inventions and in some cases superstitions, have started and with little to no truth to it! So, I am going to take a moment to dispel a few rumors.
Thank you for this document, it was strongly needed!
I would add a word of caution for myth #10 though: “Allow more time between “regular” sessions when necessary for integration”. I think it’s no myth that regular sessions can be stimulating or otherwise introduce some temporary discomfort for some people who will need more time in between. This word of caution seems required next to “Select “Regular” and trust NeurOptimal® to do its job”. This connects with myth #1: Yes, you can do sessions twice a day but if you feel agitated as a result, you should allow more time between each session: observing the effects is essential. Or is this another myth?
Thank you for your appreciation of this document and for bringing to light more thoughts and beliefs surrounding NeurOptimal. To answer your question, yes, these are all myths as well.
If someone is uncomfortable between sessions we actually recommend they do another session so the brain can have the chance to smooth itself out! But of course, it is entirely in their hands regarding what they are comfortable doing or not, and if they feel Neuroptimal is helping them or not.
We feel this discussion needs to remain open and transparent to make sure we all have the same information. Please do not hesitate if you have any other questions.
